Description

    Sominex Sleeping tablets

    Sominex tablets are a treatment for short-term insomnia, helping you to drop off for some restful sleep when you’re struggling with sleepless nights. It’s ideal for adults and adolescents over the age of 16 who are finding that a lack of sleep is making it more difficult for them to work, study, or focus on everyday activities. Sominex sleeping tablets make it easier for you to fall asleep, so you’ll wake up feeling refreshed and ready to face the day.

    Therapeutic indications:

    As a night-time sleep aid, for the correction of temporary disturbances of sleep pattern where there is difficulty in going to sleep or staying asleep, caused for example by specific dislocation of normal routine.

    Night-time sleeps aid in the correction of temporary sleep disturbance.

    Sominex Sleeping Tablets Ingredients:

    • Promethazine hydrochloride EP 20mg/tab
    • Excipient with known effect: Each 20mg tablet contains 276.00mg lactose monohydrate.

    Sominex Sleeping Tablets Dosage: 

    For bedtime use only.

    Adults: one tablet at bedtime. May be taken up to one hour after going to bed when sleep is difficult to achieve.

    Paediatric population: Not to be given to children under the age of 16 years except on medical advice.

    Elderly: the normal adult dose may be taken.

    Method of administration

    For oral administration

    Over 16 years: 1 tablet at bedtime. May be taken up to one hour after going to bed when sleep is difficult to achieve. Not to be used for more than 7 days without medical advice. Under 16 years: not to be given except on medical advice.

    How many Sominex tablets can you take?

    Swallow Sominex Night with water. Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents 16 years and over: Take 2 tablets about 20 minutes before bedtime. Do not take more than 2 tablets per night.

    How long before bed should you take Sominex sleeping pills?

    As a sleep aid, take Sominex within 30 minutes before bedtime. You must chew the chewable tablet before you swallow it.

    Which is better Sominex or Nytol?

    Some also found Sominex more effective for sending them to sleep than Nytol, so it really is a matter of trial and error. Sominex has an official maximum usage of seven days, compared with two weeks for Nytol One-A-Night.
